Imperial Tie Fighter Speed

Question

I have my Tie Fighter Pilot on g12 at the moment with maxed skills and with all 6 dot mods on him.

Now his ship is at 194 speed, which is exactly the same speed as my Falcon with R6 Han and Chewie plus all 6 dot mods. And I assume most of my GAC opponents will have the same Falcon speed.

Since I'm not very interested in coin-flipping, is it possible to get my Tie Fighter one speed faster (195) without relicing the pilot? Would adding more gear12 and g12+ pieces help?

I'm really reluctant to relic Tie Fighter Pilot at the moment.

Edit: I was being lazy. Assuming his abilities are maxed, when I did it I got the follwing:
One Gear 12 piece: 195 speed
Two: 196
Three and Four: 197
Five: 198
G13: 199
