Some mixed squads do okay in arena, but not as good as factions which have synergy.
Bring Zeb and/or Chopper to 5 stars in the next two and a half weeks so that you can get Thrawn. Level up Thrawn, Sion and Palpatine so that you can run Palp (L), Vader, Thrawn, Tarkin, and Sion. While you work on Sion, you can run Han or Boba in his place. Once you get a zeta, put it on Palp’s leadership.
Some other advice is to work on your mods. You’ll be surprised at how much farther you’ll climb in arena if you put your highest speed mods on your arena team. An easy way to get mods with secondary speed stats is from marquee events and assault battles if you don’t buy or farm them. If it has a speed secondary (or primary if it’s an arrow) then level it up to 15 and hope that the speed increases. 5 dot mods will have the strongest stats.
Hope this helps
This except you want to eventually farm nihilas to replace Tarkin. And most mixed squads don't work. You're much better ofc with a lower power squad with good synergies than just usining your 5 highest power toons. Regardless of what arena team you choose put your best mods on them and prioritize them for gear, zetas, and and stars if needed. If you do that with the squad suggested, you'll have the g12 in a few months and then you'll probably be in the top 10 instead of the top 2000. I run ep, vader, sion, nihilas, and thrawn all g12 with full zetas and still finish 3rd most days in arena in a nov 2016 shard. The first two spots are traya teams with really good mods and are a pain btw.
