Is reaching relic 7 even worth it?
So I find this particular issue to be very frustrating. Call me a newb but is it really worth the trouble of fully relicing a toon? Sure mods make all the difference because by the end of the day ever...

I guess it depends on your goals.
Are you really trying to get 1st place or top 10 competitive in fleet, squad, and GAC? On my shard you'd need R7 GR Pilots. Then the same for squad arena. I don't see how you could be top 10 competitive on a developed shard with now having created a few R7 teams. All the Padme GAS team-owners around now probably have R7 DR Malak teams.
All of the upcoming metas will need R7ish gear to take top 10 unless CG pulls some JKR kit reveal stuff with 3-4 paragraphs of ability details. So what will determine if you need R7 beyond fleet and squad would be GAC. Offensively an R5 DR Malak team can take an R7 DR Malak team, even all mods equal I think. The kits are powerful enough. So really top 80 squad compositions and modding should be the true determining factors in "need to have non-arena R7s".
Then, there is likely a last factor in your opponents: someone really judicious with whom they R5 vs. R7 is probably top-notch at modding too. The leanest of rosters probably goes hand-in-hand with great at modding.
@Coolnessda 1 last thing. An all offense 6E modded GMY with 4 rolls each on offense% secondaries should not be a disappointing thing. Jolee, Bastilla, and others calling that to assist is calling a tsunami.
