Is Synergy always worth it?

Is it worth it to sacrifice things like burst damage or a good healer in exchange for a synergy squad? Like, nightsisters for example, seems like a lot of healers but no high damage. Or going all rebel, or all clone, or all empire but having no healer.

Short answer:
"No, synergy is not always worth it — but sometimes it is."

Droid/jawa synergy absoloutely rocks. Rebels and Empire have been mentioned already. Jedi might be returning after the latest buffs. But not all synergies are fit for top rank arena as already mentioned by others.

Jedis work well in a particular phase of the new raid. The same goes for rebels, droids and jawas.
