JKR or Darth Revan?

I'd say JKR first, despite him being an older toon. He'll give you more utility in general.
DR without Malak is not that hard to counter, and since by the second time of the event's run a lot more people will be ready, DR without Malak will be pushed around in arena all the same.

At this point I'd go for the one easier to obtain and prepare for the next meta. Neither is worth it long term, if you are aiming for top ranks. JKR will probably be over soon and DR-without Malak might fight for the top for 3-6 months. DR alone will probably be left behind before that.

Looking at arena only, probably none of those two is worth the resources in the long run.
For grand arena both are/will be necessary to be competitive
