Revive is only prevented while the character has Isolate, and while it is not that character's turn.
A dead character does not have any debuffs (including Isolate). It appears that the Isolate does not immediately fall off the dead character until after the "can this character be revived right now" check (for characters that self-revive like SRP & Sion).
Currently, the only status of which I'm aware that applies to any dead characters is the "cannot be revived" tag applied by Annihilate, Deathmark, Terminate, and Execute. Many players confuse this function with the raid Isolate due to the "cannot be revived" tag that is applied in the raid, because they expect it to behave the same.
Since a dead character does not have Isolate, the positive effects prevented by Isolate are no longer prevented, and the character can be revived later.
