I wonder,could a Rex lead team with R2,Han Solo,GK and Barris be enough to defeat a JTR lead?Empire are worthless against a team like that.

One way to find out is to try it :—).
With Rex lead you are probably better of with an attacker (CLS, MT etc.) instead of Zarriss. Rex cleanses exposes, hence reducing incoming damage. An attacker will benefit more from Rex leadl, while Zarriss' unique doesn't.
Alternatively use GK (lead), Zarriss, R2, DN and Zolo. Works like a charm on offense — but not really on defense. Let your zolo stun BB8 off the bat. However, if you are fighting an RJT team with a hardhitter like Scavenger Rey or Zolo (instead of Old Ben or Chopper), then stun them instead.
