It's really up to you, but you get MORE farming raw shards from arena than converting them into garbage shards for GG.

No, GG can be gotten F2P by converting shards from already 7*'d toons into garbage shards used at the shard shop (far right of the screen).

Between GW and arena it took me 60 days actually. That's also including days I bought DV shards and other character shards that popped up. Tried to keep the purchases to a min tho since my goal was GG. So 60 wasn't too bad now I gotta get him to 5 star so looking at maybe 30 days ish.
