Less than a year playing

So a question for some advise from veteran players. This is not a rant or angry, it is written totally asking advise.

If you had to start from scratch what would your focus be. Players who started 6 months or less ago what should we focus on? Placing a Zeta on a character is a lot of Omegas to hand to hold in reserve while not developing any character for advancement. Same goes for Starships.

How do we get over the 30 Mk 3 holo pads required by 30 characters to get to GS 9, magma Trooper alone needs 3, Vader needs 2 etc.
how do we compete in Arena. What team to develop to earn rewards since we can’t compete against ZCLS / Z2 teams. Even in new shards people are fielding Zeta teams in top 50. Best teams for GW and Cantina. Pretty amazed in Cantina 7 / teams have to face 81 Zeta elites when most of us are struggling to get 85 and can’t have Zeta teams yet.

Really hard to deepen a roster to unlock the full potential when we get low payouts and top players are getting better rewards and free shards.

The game is fun. It is strategy. I get it. I just can’t compete because I don’t have a roster near as deep as someone who has played the last 2 years and unlocked it all. My counters to tough teams don’t exist or are stuck at 50 because I ran out of credits or training droids.

I appreciate any constructive advice to keep the game competitive and fun. Thank you.

So should I replace all my 1/2 star mods with 5 star health and focus Speed, Def, Prot for Phoenix members until I can unlock the Challenge Mods with Jawas/Scoundrels and Resistance Speed mods? Thank you in advance.

Mods are way too complicated to sum up in one paragraph, but I can tell you a couple things. At your level it is often best to go with health/prot when you are lacking the amazing speed mods we all covet. Another thing to keep in mind though, is that there are often occasions where a 1 or 2 dot mod is best suited for a particular toon. Also, without a massive mod pool, it may be the case that the best mod combo for a toon doesn't make sets. In other words, don't lock yourself into thinking you have to make sets, or that higher dots are always better. Look at what happens to your stats as you change things around, and that is what will tell you is best.

Someone might have said this already, but crouchingrancor.com offers mod advice for each toon. Good luck!
