Maul Under DN lead

IMO the ideal Zaul team is Zaul, Zavage, SA, DN, and EP or SiT. EP is really squishy so you might be better off with the tank there. You want SA to be loaded up as fast as possible with some heavy crit damage as she can easily one shot a full health and full protection toon. As much speed as you can on everyone else, obviously. This team will fail miserably against triple cleanse teams and most teams with R2.

Ideal DN team is DN, SiT, SA, Dooku, Zavage or EP depending on who you are fighting. Mod away from CC/CD if you can as it is useless here. Load up with speed (especially SA again) and offense or potency where applicable. I have a hard time against jedi squads with this team unless I swap in B2. Triple cleanse teams are maybe 60/40 wins. If you can't go before R2 on a resistance team you will be wrecked.

Dump Maul and add Dooku, he'll be a big improvement.

Drop maul as others have said. Add in GK (if available), rex, or Thrawn. I'd even say drop savage for rex. If you have Chaze then drop both savage and maul and use them. I wish I could but I don't have baze yet.

Also drop all speed from SiT. SA will fill his TM plenty. You want him slow with nothing but health mods and protection up in every slot you can (arrow, triangle, cross, circle) and focus on protection for him on every mod. My SiT has 103 speed and over 90k effective health. Once tenacity up is on him he just sits there and heals himself up with retribution. It is sick.

I run DN, SA, SiT, GK, and Rex. I wish I had Thrawn to replace rex but I don't. I've tried savage, yoda, ep, r2, and Chi in place of rex but they don't feel as effective.

Heck I just wish sith/DS had the equivalent of GK, rex, or Chaze so I could run a better full dark side squad

I've played with a bunch of setups, maul I agree is the weak link but the thought is getting the Daze and then CD reduc with nihilus to prevent enemy Rex lead, works fairly often. The speed on trooper is in addition to his insane protection, I run protection, protection protection on his right hand mod colum, with offense mod set. Huge survival but the speed makes him shrug off debuffs savage missed. I had decent luck with palp then triple cleanse hit and he just wasn't good enough. Dooku dosent have zeta and I feel unless he's last and they don't have nihilus (which 8/10 do in my shard) he's just not that good. Might change with separatist rework but he was already buffed with sith. Thrawn is alright but without protection to gain on third ability makes him only good for fracture, which is powerful but I prefer not to run a slot for one move only... too much can go wrong. Kenobi is powerful though I often swap him in depending on the team I am facing. Very worth the gear to max his last 5 slots before 11.

They're falling behind everywhere. Then again they have never been the favorite. Nor equal. That's why I stopped running full sith squad. Hate to do it but that's how I contend for 1. Ls always is the easier path... Whine to the devs and they will make the big bad DS go away...

Dooku doesn't need a zeta to be good under DN, one could even argue that it is wasted on him. Because of his counter attacks he has tremendous survivability, does well against Jedi, and can stun and shock. I find more often than not he chops off the other team's protection purely on counters. Really think you're missing a key piece by not using him.

Having said that, you aren't wrong about Sith falling behind.

One of the most true things ever said to me about this game is this.
Remeber, you're not buying a character, you're renting them for a month until something better comes along.

The meta report tells the tale. LS has great squads. DS has a few good characters. But that is why I change and adapt and continue to try and think around the box. Eff being LS. Eff the easy way. I've never been meta. I find it fun to not be and still do well and compete for the top spot.
