Mod update (All characters become Viable)

Well now that we have this amazing ability to add stats and increase them, I believe all characters with a few exceptions have become viable in one aspect or another. Tarkin was useless due to his potency... Add potency mods, assajj was unusable due to her speed, add speed mods. Now I'm not suggesting everyone is now "good" and I'm not saying it's a fix, but it does offer a way of at least improving and covering the gaps in some characters who were missing something important here before.

Pls post your modding ideas for characters to make up for some flaws they posses

  • It's really seeming like my post title is really wrong the more I play with mods.... I got Tie Pilot to 179 speed with a turn 1 57k crit on special... Nothing is viable against that and Rey is worse
  • The problem is the set bonuses are all wrong, they seem to favor offense stats over defense.

    Health Set is 15%, where as offense is 40%. Technically offense set is four pieces compared to a two set health, but if you double up on health its still 30% to 40%. So your taking 40% extra damage yet only have 30% health increase. Defense is the same way, 30% defense to 40% offense.

    You can get the 15% Crit chance set, and 40% crit damage set on the same character. I don't know where to begin with speed, its 25%, that's a whole lot of speed for already fast characters that tend to be damage dealers in the first place. And whats worse is because its a percentage it helps the slow characters less than the fast ones.

    Both potency and tenacity have terrible set bonuses, worse than health and defense in my opinion. 20% is really low for those stats, I thought I could put potency on Sidious to make him good again, but I would need all six to be potency for only 60% plus however much I get from the mods themselves, and that would probably still be less than my HK-47 who's natural Potency is 145%

    These set bonuses need to be further evaluated and adjusted, unfortunately there's nothing that can done right away, so I'm probably going to drop really low before anything is fixed. I use a lot of slow but powerful characters like Vader, HK-47, Phasma, Snowtrooper, Royal Guard. Which was an ok team a few days ago, but now speed will likely be the meta again and my team won't stand a prayer against that.

    Where do you get the potency mods? Are they on a certain node? Is potency a secondary attribute? I want to add potency to him too so the TM reduction occurs more often

    Why not? Speed mods with Ventress paired with damage mods makes her AOE pretty sweet. Plus she can stun more often which is extremely important with the insane damage other characters are doing now.



    Every time this dude posts I seriously question if he even plays the game. Have you reached level cap Rizn?

  • I'm no longer thinking in the singular for mods. I think the one good thing that will come out of modding will be seen a month or two down the road. When we all have our favorite, essential, and countering characters modded up. Then it will require real strategy for countering specific characters or teams vs. the one team to rule them all technique. Just my two cents but I'm remaining positive about the future of this game now.

    Been level 80 for awhile now, yes. Not sure what makes you question if I play or not. Mods are allowing us to make characters we like more viable. I don't think it will change the 'meta' in the end really, but it's fun for now being able to use different characters than the same 5-6 you always see.
