Modding advice by sample

I'm finding the choice of mods to be hard. Could you please help me with some deep thinking here?

What mods would you put on Rey and Princess Leia respectively and most importantly why are those mods better than other mods?

Thanks in advance!
  • What do you actually want to know? What type (as set bonus or as solo) would you like to know?

    Preferably it should go like:

Rey - speed and offense (try look out for a set bouns of offense + health or critical chance, in fact anything would do here imo)
Leia - offense, speed and critical damage (try to look out for a set bonus of critical damage + health)
  • Rey is really quite simple IMHO: the easiest lvl5 mods... health. Whenever anyone encounters Rey, they will drop her first. Fact. She is so utterly devastating (I'd go as far to say game breaking with her foresight and health steal) that any player worth their salt will stack up the health bonuses to ensure she gets at least one turn. After she's had that she gets a lot harder to kill. You don't need to over-empower her damage output - it's already overly powerful. All you have to do is keep her alive. I am currently sat at #1 on my shard and due to inactivty can find myself down to #20 on some days. I have only seen one Rey that hasn't been max lvl5 health modded and they were buffed with speed and health. She died before she got a single swing off.

Leia is a different beast. I would probably train up a Jawa squad for the crit damage challenge as she has naturally high crit chance and then put your last two on anything else you think she's lacking in.

People have the wrong idea about mods. Everyone wants to improve what's already good when what they should be doing is improve what's lacking. I run droids and although I feel a bit short-changed by not having my own challenge, I'm fortunate that the thing I really need is easy to come by: health.

Healers and tanks are usually exceptions to this because they're so specialised. A tank just has to soak up abuse so he'll want extra health to do his job longer. Some healers restore health based on their own health count so they're probably worth maxing out on health bonuses to benefit the whole team.
  • Really depends on your squad. On raids, I run Leia with IG88 lead, so I put Crit chance and Crit Damage on there. When I use her with AA lead, I like to have the extra life.
  • Thanks guys!

I understand the point of using different mods depending on usage and team composition. Makes it much more challenging and interesting to max out the toons. I guess this means it is good to have a set of mods that can be applied for different settings

But, getting specialized mods like high level crit damage or speed mods (set bonuses that is) is kind of difficult for me. I'm quite far away from having a competitive Jawa team for instance.

Makes me wonder if there will be other ways of earning mods in the future. Didn't I see that mods were a part of the rewards in the upcoming tank raid? Or is that just my wishful thinking...

The new raid would make it possible

I got you, buddy. This is will be very easy.

You start doing normal mods battles and get health mods and all kinds of 1-2 dots mods that are pointless (dot refers to the rank of the mod). Good so far this will unlock mod challenges.

First things first go complete, level them up and put them on your chars,(doesn't really matter because rank 1-2 mods are sh.t). Very important to level them to 15 so you get full boost.
Now Health mods challenges should be opened, and farm them for a a few days until you have
5 dot health mods for all your chars, put them on your main squad.

After that depending on your available chars, you should unlock speed mod challenge and crit chance mod challenge. When you can finish them up replace 5 dot health mods on rey and leia with speed and crit chance.

May the Force be with you.
