I have noticed that most times I get E mods, with an occasional green. If I get a blue, purple or gold, they are usually 3 or four dots, not 5. It seems like to chances to get triangles, arrows and crosses are much lower.
I do not waste my gems on extra refreshes to get mods anymore because the payouts have been so bad.
