The only thing that's wrong with your analogy is that you can TOTALLY get any drink you want at the bar, except maybe Tecate beer, which is free for Mexicans because it was paid for by Mexico. But you can TOTALLY get any OTHER drink you want... Tecate beer isn't that great anyway (it's ok at best, but definitely not great), so no real loss there... I do recommend a Fat Tire though, it's available to all and it's great! And yeah, you'll survive not being able to order Tecate for a while...
