Special deals like this happen all the time. Just look at posters near tills etc.
Get x off if you have y or free if you own y.
Buy product x and for a limited time get this free item from our partner etc.
Also look at the bottles/cans of soft drink you are drinking some will have some sort of offer another company has paid for.
Exclusive content in games is also quite normal. I dont own a samsung but I have friends who do and they got free things I didn't, I don't have a facebook account so have not got crystals for that. I also don't use twitter and did not get the free stuff for that.
When apple do a deal with ea, I also won't get what they pay for. Overall K2 is not going to make much difference in the grand scheme of things for most players.
If google players could use 6 toons in arena to apples 5 then you have an issue. But google giving its players some free stuff does not make much difference, you still have to level and gear K2 up etc. resources that would have been spent elsewhere.
Not everyone on google got him at 7 star and those who did likely have a lot of 7 star toons and wont need him much.
