Should I buy gear here too while I farm the two Ewoks? It feels like it's the only place where I can get decent deals on gear.
No. You should rely on gear from raids at this point in your account development **except** when you're gearing someone for your Arena squad. Then you specify which new toon or toons you need on your Arena team, decide how much gear you're going to buy for them, then do that & go immediately back to shards.
The important thing to remember is that you will ALWAYS need gear, so if you treat this store as a source for gear, there will never be a time when you are free to buy the characters you have to have to develop your roster.
Someday this store will be a source of gear, but that can't be any time soon.
