It‘s not about what she single-handedly does, but what she provides for the whole Resistance Team.
She hands out exposes more consistently (70% non-counterable effect, for crits and at least I get them rather frequently.....), gives cd reduction and TM on applying expose, not hitting that expose... making you less reliant on speed, being able to hit that one toon AND she can turn down debuffs on her relatively consistent as well. Theoretically, every 2 debuffs out of 5 negates ALL debuffs on her.
Plus she effectively regenerates 10% of her maximum LP (health and protection) every turn, while negating one attack against her (not to mention she can naturally evade as well).


And the biggest point:
We have no clue whatsoever as to what characters and their abilities Resistance will get now, that episode 8 has been released (which very easily can be part of the Devs talk about perfect composition for Rey)

I don’t have much experience fighting Resistance, we had 1 in our top 50 that was a free win. But I have now tried going up against a new JTR Resistance team that popped up and you seem to be correct. That JTR, Finn, BB8, Poe, R2 team is light years better than other Resistance team that was in the top 50. No comparison. zSolo can completely shut down zFinn teams just be shooting him first. Not possible with JTR. She fuels the TM gain as well if not better and adds to the effect with the TM removal. And stunning her or any other toon doesn’t really alter the effect. Unlike with Finn where stunning the right people killed the team.
