New Meta squad? - Thoughts and Counters?

Erm..

Thrawn(L), Shoretrooper, DT, Nihilus and GK does way better than this team.

Double CD increase is brutal. Plus you get hit with the unkillable Shoretrooper wall.

I only face these teams in GW. I beat both of them, but I don't really have any issues with the one you listed. The Empire Squad is a lot more annoying in my opinion.

Within the past week a lot of similar teams with Thrawn have been popping on my shard. I've had very good luck with Nihilus lead Sith. They don't hold well on defense but offensively I surprisingly haven't had any trouble. I run zzNihilus, SAss, zSavage, Dooku, SithTroop. No crits mean no TM gain and no taunt.

I'm able to take it down with zVader lead teams. SA to push DN to annihilate first, or a more empire focus team if your thrawn is ready.

Vader's lead counters Rex's pretty well.

If it holds on def as well as doing so great on off I am impressed.

Unlocking GK soon, but doesnt have DT yet. So I have different options to go for, but I am looking for the squad which holds best on def

What's your thoughts of a zeta on Tarkin? I have run that same team, but I haven't put a zeta on Thrawn's leadership yet. Seeing a lot of comments about how Tarkin basically turns into a tank once you put that zeta on him. Who should I zeta first?

I haven't put a zeta on Tarkin. Shore is pretty constantly taunting and retaunting, so it's rare that someone else gets targeted for more than an attack or two. Tarkin lays down aoe offense down, so even if he gets hit, it's not all that hard. If the offense down is cleansed, then his zeta is useless anyway. Shore heals, and Tarkin has decent lifesteal (15%). I'd zeta Thrawn's lead over Tarkin's unique.

don't have GK yet so who would you put in his place?

I don't consider any team with Rex lead to be a "new meta". You just swap in 2 or 3 characters
