Zombies deaths are irrelevant. In fact, the more she dies, the stronger Ventress will become. I'm thinking about deliberately keeping Zombie at 1 star, gear 1, level 1.
Is this actually correct? Has someone done the sims on this?
Not exactly you need her to be good enough to get the ability to taunt from the start of battle. Everything else doesn't improve her much. Mine is gear 10 haven't noticed any advantage with current meta. If someone would go before cls then it would help having a higher geared zombie. She would take hits until cls goes. He breaks her taunt. Currently everyone juices up cls speed so he can give turn meter to the rest of the party. So no benefit right now.
You're misinterpreting the question. They are asking if keeping zombie low enough to die repeatedly will make Asaj hit harder. If zombie dies, she loses buff immunity which means she will auto taunt again at the end of her next turn. In the meantime at 2* G2 should get you all abilities while still letting her die to any AoE, which should lead to her dying a fair amount. So there's no question that this tactic of keeping zombie very weak has its benefits. The only question is whether or not the deaths will give benefits to other zombies:
Asaji:

When any ally or enemy is defeated, Asajj gains 35% Turn Meter, and, gains 15% Offense, 15% Critical Chance, and 5% Max Health (stacking) until the end of the encounter. Asajj has +15 Speed for each enemy with no buffs.
Old Daka:

Serve Again
When another ally is defeated, Old Daka gains 50% Turn Meter and the cooldown of Chant of Resurrection is reduced by 1. When another ally is Revived while Old Daka is active, the Revived ally gains 20% Turn Meter and gains Offense Up and Defense Up for 2 turns, and Old Daka gains +10% Max Health (stacking) until the end of the encounter.
So the question is answered by ability descriptions.
