NS Spirit mechanic question

The following is a description for the basic attack for NS Spirit:

The following is a description for zAV leadership:

My Question: if NS Spirit procs the leadership ability from zAV and removes 40% TM on her basic, does she gain 40% TM, or just 20%? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • She only gets the +20% TM if her basics removal succeeds the tenacity-potency check and the attack was not evaded.
Then enemy will be removed the 20% on damaging and without tenaciry check

    Added ability description from swgoh.gg

Damage goes below the TM removal and gain and that's when Asajj lead kicks in
  • That doesn’t answer my question whatsoever.

If NSS’s basic proc’s AV’s leadership, that implies that damage was done (so no evasion of foresight, the basic ability lands). So while her basic goes through the P/T check, the leadership ability does not, that’s all easily understood by most players I believe. There is, ultimately, many times NSS will remove 40% TM using her basic over the course of a battle.

The end of NSS basic ability reads “gain turn meter equal to the amount removed.”

So again, iff NSS does indeed remove 40% TM while performing her basic, does she gain 40% TM, as the description quite literally reads? Or is this one of a thousand “lost in translation” interactions, and in no case will she ever gain 40% TM on basic? Thanks again for help

  • Err....
    Basic ability:
    Action a: remove 20%TM
Acton b: gain amount removed in a
    Action c: speed down
    Action d: deal damage
Extra action from lead as damage is dealt: remove 20% TM
    Finish turn

    Result:
Up to 40% TM removed, up to 20%TM gain

Then the description need to reflect it and say 20% instead of inferring a total gain.

The description is correct as it states that the amount that the ability removes is the amount gained. With a max of 20 and a min of 0%

If target had only 14% TM. You will only gain 14% TM.
If target had 0%TM you will gain 0% TM.

That's why I said "up to" on my last post.

Except that it answers it exactly? The answer is no, you don't gain the extra TM from the Asajj TM removal because of the order of actions.
  • Then the description need to reflect it and say 20% instead of inferring a total gain.

You misunderstood my meaning I should’ve been more specific.

They should state “max 20%” or “from only the affect of this attacks TM drained”

Excluding any other TM drain that could be included. The description infers inclusion.
