You've gotten all the right advice for Old Ben. He's good enough that eventually you'll have a place for him. And he's required for Jedi Master Luke so long term it's reasonable to build him up for that at least.
One other thing, getting Threepio and Chewie in that lineup is not a bad idea even at lower levels. At G12 3* they still gain a huge boost to, well, everything based on their leader's stats, so considering that and the mass blind attack it's not a bad idea to toss them into the team mix.
I wouldn't worry about their zeta though. It's primarily for TB anyway but even if you put it down you're not likely going to be killing anyone with Threepio and Chewie anyway.
