Old player back after 2 years
I am back after two years, and I do not know how much has changed. In am in a server when games was launch initially. Should I restart or invest in the existing account. I am level 85 and holding 500 ...

Seeing how you're rank 500 after 2 years and haven't dropped I'd say that's how far you arena shard goes, you probally cant drop any lower then that due to either players leaving or not strong enough to take your squad. If you restart keep this account, you could always try catching up on this one while seeing what a new one can do. I'm not sure if you know the acronyms for toons so I'll avoid using them
What is your arena team and what does your roster look like? If you dont have Phoenix farm them. They get you 2 legendary toons Thrawn and Palpatine plus 2 jedis for Grand master yoda event. Separatists arent a bad route either and they'll net you padme legendary. The journey guide tab will tell you what toons are needed for each event. You may be really close to getting commander luke skywalker depending on your current roster. Darth reven and Jedi revan are still top teams for GAC, raids and TW but farming their requirements can be long. You need the requirements for darth revan and jedi revan plus them inorder to get Malak. The current meta is general ani skywalker and he 2 legendary toons (padme and C3p0) plus some long farming toons so he isnt a good choice right now for you if your ftp but his time may change here soon with the legends coming.
Fleet arena since been upgraded, you can get crystals from top 50 so if that looks viable to do go for it. However there has since been 4 capital ships released maybe 5 if you wearnt here for thrawn. Negotiator with kenobi, malevonce with grievous both require GET2 currency. Raddus with holdo, finalizer with hux and chimera with thrawn. So far negotiator is taking the cake for top fleet but Raddus and Finalizer dont have a full First order or resistance ship line up yet. If/when more get released they could become meta
