Phoenix team is the real deal!

Question

When Phoenix came out I thought they were totally lame. No damage, and basically 3 tanks. I only got them to 7* to get Thrawn. I managed to unlock him with all G8 Phoenix. I have not touched their gear levels since and don't plan to for a while. ANYWAYz

I just 3 starred the most infamous node in the game. Light side 9B hard, with my all gear 8 Phoenix team!!!(and a borrowed G12 CLS ;) )The node that absolutely crushes my Wiggs chaze r2 team.
I get 6/6 on every battle except for the last phase since TB began.
I auto my GW from node 1-5 and 7-10 almost everyday with them.
After I omega'd all their uniques, they literally cannot die. For how little I sunk into them, Phoenix has been the most bang for my buck ever

I'll admit it. Phoenix is super fun to play with and I love them now!

I put off using Phoenix for a long time but now I like them a lot. They usuallly take me up to the second to last node in GW. And yeah- they're a fun play- nice bit of strategy and thought involved. I appreciate they're not meta...and are not end game, but mid game they do well.

I leave out Chopper. It's controversial I know...but it seems there are pros and cons of leaving out either Chopper or Sabine. Personally I find the twin attack of Ezra and Sabine too good to resist.

I didn't get Thrawn last time. I may or may not get him this time. I'll definitely get him next time. This is how the game works. It's a long, slow haul...for f2p.

Yes I do have very good mods on them. But still, a G8 team beating the hardest node in the game? Surviving all those AOE's?? It really surprised me. I 3 starred 9C as well with the same squad.

One last update. I successfully 3 starred 9A and 9D as well. Gear 8 Phoenix has finished the game for me! I have 3 starred every node in the game thanks to the amazing abilities of the phoenix squadron! Yes!
