Phoenix vs NS question

So my shard from rank 50 to 125 is nothing but other phoenix, a couple empire who are suprisingly hard to beat, and night sisters. I REALLY hate fighting other phoenix squads and the couple empire teams are super 'hit n miss' which only leaves Nightsisters.

Can phoenix beat Nightsisters at level 60-62 with level 7 gear, 7* Ezra and Zeb and 6* Hera, Chopper and Kanan? If so would/should it be easier than fighting other phoenix squads? If possible what would be my targets in order of priority with no MT with Asajj lead and a squad WITH MT as lead?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
  • I went ahead and fought 3 NS squads yesterday and won all 3, only 1 of them was a close call against an almost perma stealthed acolyte. The other 2 were draws against Phoenix which pretty much solidified my resolve to NEVER fight them again lol!

I think Sabine needs a bump in shard locations, if she was more accessible more people would enjoy phoenix farming rather than the tedious job it feels like now. I know most swap out Ezra for Sabine but in cases like the stalemate arena I'd swap out a tank, it's just a little extra damage needed to beat other phoenix.
  • I'm level 79 and I have always found nightsisters an easy enough target.

What I do is take the protection off mt and daka and then let zombie taunt. I stay on zombie or random other nightsister with protection with basics til cooldowns are gone.

Then at some point I use chopper's cleanse on zombie. Ezra's two specials (call assist from hera) and and Hera's special (call ezra) and whatever other attacks you have should quickly kill both daka and talzin before either can revive someone.

Nightsisters without Acolyte have never been a problem for my Phoenix team. I focus down in order Daka, Talzin, Ventress, Talia, Initiate, Spirit, and finally Acolyte, choosing to either kill or cleanse the zombie (via Ezra or Chopper) when necessary depending on cooldowns and the zombie's health. If there is an Acolyte, I auto-basic until she unstealths. Whether that ever happens is up to RNG and how high the skill is leveled, so sometimes I spend the last 3 minutes of the fight on auto until I draw, but usually I can attack at some point and finish the fight.

I'm more or less in the same boat, but I tend to swap Talzin and Ventress. The healing and cleanse tends to be more of an issue than the damage for me, but that's a good order if your damage is good and somewhat fast.
  • Yeah that is the problem isn't it. phoenix vs phoenix never ends. we should realize starting with phoenix is not as ideal as we think

Besides, phoenix at higher level win 100% against NS. plague almost never lands due to kanan's unique and phoenix end up with full prot/health left.

That doesn't mean phoenix can easily beat ns. due to low dps it takes a long while, but it just does not lose at least

That said Kanan, Chopper, Zeb must be in your line for maximum health/prot regen.
For 5th Sabine is better. She helps dealing with Acolyte.

For teams without Acolyte, you can use Ezra as well

Or for short term fix in case you don't have sabine, use a good counter to acolyte as 5th instead of ezra.
Baze is great with his aoe dispel, but problem is he does not have enough health gain to shake off the plagues. Lando can be good too, he is very squishy but he has the dps.
IPD, B2 are good too although they are hard to earn

As someone who loathes hitting Phoenix pockets while playing Phoenix myself, I mostly agree with this. I do think it's one of the best starting squads, but I think people should be ready to move off of them sooner than the current recommendation. Or start playing around with some replacements for some of them, as you said.
