Playing to vent, but cant seem to do that anymore

Like most people, I play video games to vent. Its a fantastic outlet, but with swgoh, lately, i've been lossing interest in this game because frankly all the enjoyment is gone.

Tournies are just glorified arena battles, so no chance of getting new characters for the f2p and the new raid is a chore, and most of my guild has gone radio silent over this.

I guess what Im saying is, logging on to play content and get my butt handed to me isn't fun.

If it wasnt for the Star Wars tag, I would have been gone long ago. I guess im just being shoved out the door, and slowly realizing it. The business will never cater to the f2p, and they've been slowly implementing changes to force people to spend money or jump ship. I would post ideas on how to accommodate both f2p and p2p, but i feel my honest feedback will either get my thread closed, merged(ignored), or deleted again, as it has already been so many times before.

But as a last resort, ill try. Please bring back PvE events (palp). When your skill/dedication is needed to beat events, not a huge wallet. Please and thank you.

Sincerely,

  • Yeah, i've been taking full advantage of the free stuff they do give out haha, and i agree with your f2p strategy for success. Perhaps p2p can be seperate from f2p or have different $$ tiers for shards (servers).

Make me feel like i have a chance by leveling the field, i mean playing against lower lvls/teams isn't fun unless you want to boast up your ego haha competitive play is great, until you dont get a turn in an arena match!
  • Yeah, my characters are either fully (rancor raid) geared or irrelevant as a character. And because my guild cant beat the new Tank raid to continue gearing the characters that do matter, their is no point.

I also will refuse to jump ship from my guild and become a scumbag just to beat a freakin raid lol
  • Threatening to quit will not get you your way. I am leader of a guild that is dedicated to helping new players. For every player that quits, 10 new players join. And that is just from my experience watching new players join my guild.

I advise my new guild members to try the game for a month before spending money, but I guess because the way I run my guild to help with gear and advice they start spending after only a few days.

I don't even see in his game as a grind, I see it as an adventure, so do my guild mates. Sure we have slugged it out in T6 tank raid sence it was released and only at 60% in phase 1, however we look at it in respect of , we never run out of tickets and always have a raid active.

The game is more enjoyable if you take a positive look at it. If your just picking out the negative aspect of anything, you will end up being a hater, and that's no way to live.

It is getting to the point where it's almost impossible to level characters up. Character shards drops are decreasing every time I play.

No it is not, and no they are not.

The Devs never tinker with drop rates, its all in your head.

I got 9 Jawa shard in a row the other day.
It is a random number generator. Its random.

  • One time after finishing my shower i was about to refresh my SWGOH energy and I accidentally slipped and sat on a rubber ducky. It hurt bad.
  • Ya game is not f2p friendly any more. The gap between us and p2w is so huge now I'm not sure we can ever compete again. Game was fun when I could take first in arena. Now I struggle to take top ten. You are right it's not fun anymore. No where can f2p compete with p2w in the game now besides maybe GW and no way to catch up even a little bit anymore
  • @ReVenGe_in_MiNd who's threating to quit? Just as you, im posting my game experience. Your view is optimistic, as you call it an "adventure;" however, with all realism, its just a glorified term for "grind."

I've been playing since launch, and stayed around after all of EA's shortcomings. This doesnt change the fact that even though I have all of the characters that matter, playing against the meta repeatedly everyday is not fun.

So if you're not #1 in arena, the game isn't fun? I've never finished #1 in arena, yet I enjoy this game as a f2p. I don't expect to compete with the whales, but there's enough that I've been able to adjust and build up and regularly finish top 10. Moreover, arena and these tournaments are the only times (at least until ships comes out) that I really have to compete with p2p players.

If you can't enjoy the game without being better than everyone, you have to spend money. It's the way freemium games work.
