I don't think it was a "lazy fix", they probably already had the change, because why would WAT have CD if he can't reuse the tech? It seems right to me.
I mean its a very nuanced scenario which is why I'm not worried about it having effects, but couldn't it happen if someone with the tech dies, then he slaps the same tech on a new toon? Rare to have happen so IG it doesn't warrant any more attention
