Possible explanations for this ... ?

My GL:Rey squad versus an enemy GL Rey squad.
The battle starts, my opponent's GL Rey turns out to be faster than my one and therefore my opponent's GL Rey gets the first turn of the fight. My GL Rey gets the second turn.
Battle continues.
My opponent's GL Rey then, logically, gets to activate stage one of her Ultimate Ability before my GL Rey does. I then activate stage one of my GL Rey's Ultimate Ability.
Logic now dictates, does it not, that my opponent's GL Rey should then have to activate the second stage of her Ultimate Ability before my GL Rey does?
But she doesn't.
MY GL Rey then gets the next action of the two, meaning I have to break my Ultimate Ability first despite up until now being the slower of the two GL Reys.

How is that possible?

Can you think of any Resistance or "standard GL Rey squad" character who could do that to either of the GL Rey's?
I can#t quite remember then enemy line up but it wasn't so unusual that it stood out to me. So I've been trying to go over the usual suspects but I can't find anything.
  • I appreciate that it's hard to come up with a definitive answer without the line up information which is why I was asking for possibilities rather than a definite answer as I can't remember what we were both using.
However I was definitely using both Resistance Hero characters, I always do with my GL Rey, so that might very well be it.
    Thank you!
  • There is also the possibility you have the same speed, and they won the coin toss at times and you won it that time.
