Rebel Y-Wing in new shards: how good is it?

So in my first order March account I managed to get this famed ship by spending all my crystals for ship energy. It turned out to be a nice ship, but certainly not the best out there. Before I got the Y-Wing my rank was 29; and after I got it I only rose 5 ranks, so nothing dramatic like the end-game shards.
There are three notable points about this tank:
1. Very Consistent Taunt. Rebel Y-Wing taunts both with his basic and his special.
2. Shield Disruption. This debuff allows you to prevent a target enemy ship to gain protection and sets its protection to 0.
3. Constant Protection Regen for Rebel fleets. All rebel allies regenerate protection on critical hit.
The only thing good about this ship in new shards is the taunt. It's so consistent that it's impossible to dispel. So the first thing you should do wen you see it is to drop a buff immunity.
As for all those awesome abilities doing with protection, it's not nearly as powerful in new shards, as the protection of all ships are ridiculously low. To the point that I prefer to use the second special for dispel. However, be warned that this ship will only get deadlier as you progress, since protection increases as your ship gets stronger.
In conclusion, as long as you drop the buff immunity right, it's munch time. It's definitely not god (not yet), but still a great tank if you need one.
