Mods aren't that great for my non-Boba toons since I don't use them anywhere else, just a mishmash of whatever I had available at the time.
I usually only have one or two toons standing at the end but that's all that matters.

Thats really strange because mine are not much worse and i had a hard time (with second highest Rank!) without the mods:
