If you were not a top player before your break, what would then justify that you be moved to a new shard, where you may be able to easily take top rank, just because you chose not to play while others on your shard continued their play and efforts?
On a side note:
It IS possible to come back after a long break and do relatively well after a few months. I took a 14 months break from my alt account and after months of play after returning I now easily take first in fleet arena and can enter top—100 in squad arena on days I play. I believe this alt will be prepared for the next JTR event and then continue preparations for hSTR.
