Time and patience are a requirement in this game. Consistent effort is rewarded. It wouldn't be if you could simply be moved between shards as you pleased.

If you are already level 85 you are already far ahead my alt which was in the mid 30s at the break. Your level 85 will also have far more to offer a guild in guild events (raids, TB and TW) than a new account will. You will have a large head start over a new account gear—wise and roster—wise in general. The only difference will be arenas. However, if you don't plan on being a top—player anyway, you may as well take your time and climb, while enjoying your guild events. But hey, in the end it's all up to you and what will be more fun for you.
A fair point. I can/could still do the same things, while slowly catching up. Thanks for the toughts.

Not really. Just because that's the way things are today doesn't make it wrong. It wouldn't be unfair to move him to another shard with opponents of comparable GP.

He didn't play for a year and consequently is a long way behind his current shardmates.
The only unfair thing i could see if one moved shards is that he would actually take somebody's place in the arenas. Which is sort of debatable.
