Shard Requirement To Unlock Related To Character Strength?
Are the characters that require 80 shards to unlock more viable/powerful/useful than characters that cost 10/25/50? Or is it just randomized?

Shard requirements in most cases don't determine a character's worth. Only time I'd say it's relevant is for legendary and hero's Journey characters.
