Ships not reinforced as per intended?

Question

I have Umbaran as my first reinforcement, followed by slave 1. However, in a friendly battle with a friend my slave one was reinforced instead of umbaran. My question is, is the reinforcement random? Isn't it suppose to follow the order of your ship line up?

The AI now chooses what it thinks is the best reinforcement ability in a given situation. So no, the ships no longer reinforce in the order you set.

The ships didn’t reinforce in order before either btw.. I’ve watched a friend battle me, and it brought in Boba as the first reinforcement, when he was actually 3rd on my bench. Before, it brought in the toon with the highest Gp I think.
