SLKR killed while in ultimate ?

I’ve just attacked a Malgus squad with SLKR and co. Opening shot Malgus one shotted my KRU with his dark deception special. Battle went on a bit . Popped SLKR ultimate. Big swipey thing killed 3 of the oppo team. Malgus does Dark Deception special on SLKR and kills him while he was still under ultimate ?

Any ideas
