Slow tank vs fast tank

And specially STH.

I wonder if it's a good idea to let STH be as slow as possible and insisting instead on tenacity/health/defense/crit avoidance. Specially since his attack is not ultra useful as rg's stun.

So I replaced a 30% speed with a 23 crit avoidance and I aim for 60-80 tenacity. Being slow it means that it's taunt will be up for longer, which might be seen as an advantage but it gets to taunt later and it taunts again ... Never

Ideas?

I think the main reason to do this with STHan isn't so that his taunt lasts longer but more so that he goes just slower than any QGJ and thus gets off his taunt for at least one full turn. With that in mind, you probably want him around 140-145 speed and you have to design the rest of your lineup to be able to operate without the STHan TM boost first turn.

+6 at least. Everyone and their brother runs QGJ even through the highest tiers of pvp, and without any speed mods, STHan's or Chewie should go right after QGJ... and it's is a good thing. The best way to really punish the always present Speed Mods/QGJ, is Tenacity & pure defense mods on your tank.
  • I have him now at around 150 and he goes before enemy's QGJ usually (new shard i guess so not many are modded for speed). Sometime i let go one turn before i actually taunt but it's annoying when someone blocks his special so it's so situational ...

    Anyway, good feedback, thanks :)

A 145 speed vs say 126 speed is like negligible anyway, if it goes after another person or before it will not change how he reacts, make the rest of your team faster in that case.

The stats you need to sacrifice just to find a mod without speed with negate the effort.

I have experimented with speed for many characters and it only matters for characters that NEED to get something out first like Yoda or Rey or ability block, other than for a taunt it will not affect your overall turn meter.

The idea of a taunt is the draw the hits in to other characters and at the last moment THEN you redirect to a taunt to give a chance to heal, buff. You don't want to taunt immediately, save it until you really need it.
  • I would argue that STH is different and you kinda want him to taunt as soon as possible and stay up as much as possible (even as a sacrifice meatball) due to his TM manipulation.
