Strategy for Thrawn unlock

Im a massive noob but I really want to unlock Thrawn the next time he comes around at 7*. So I was wondering is Kaanan, Zeb, Chopper, Hera and Ezra good enough or do I need Sabine? And what gear level should they be if I chipsen to forgo mods or what would be the best mods for them? Any help would be really appreciated

    The key is maxed (or near-maxed) unique abilities. Higher gear levels than g9 and outstanding mods are always a help, but g8-9 may be enough if your abilities are high (the sharing of uniques is their distinguished feature).
