Gotta admit that it's much more pronounced now, though. Outspeeding your enemy wasn't that important in the JKR meta, afaik, and now it's basically all that matters. No amount of smart play can save you when the enemy gets to apply fears and you don't.
Agreed when comparing the previous meta of JKR, but that was more of the exception than the rule. Personally, I hated the meta. It was such a slog.
