I have talked to im-not-really-a-jedi about an API of a sort, because I wanted to create an app. He said they're not planning any sort of API

Nice KaZyKa, I have a spreadsheet as well but the focus was more on computing potential team speed, power, etc. Based on statistics published from http://www.swgohcantina.com/character-max-stats/

There are hidden formula on Team Calculation tab that look up the character names entered to the Stats tab and bring back statistics. The sample tab shows a few example teams I looked up. You can also have it look at what top 5 teams of various statistics (such as power/speed) may look like.
