K2 is a great toon, don't be afraid to invest in him. I'm not sure if he'll be able to make it through the EP event, but as the previous poster mentioned, I doubt you'll have your Princess to 7* in time.
K2 is also pretty easy to gear. Only hiccup is needing a Raid Droid Caller to get him to G9. I've been running him in my second account droid squad and taking rank 1 for the first time in weeks because of his Daze (I'm level 81 vs level 85 whales)
