Area is not about competition anymore, and unless they do something to break the gangs it will kill the end game. Especially as the game becomes more balanced and more people max their toons.
It they don't fix it, people will leave and the game will die. I hope they don't let that happen.
I'd like to see the devs shuffle the arena shards ever few months. 7 of the top 15 in mine are from the same guild with another handful in the 20 - 50 range. You start making progress toward top 10 and you get picked off.
