Not sure about Finn or Resistance as a starting team, looks like very long farm for a full Resistance team.
Everybody gets Chewie now, it's fixed. The first pack is referring to the first single chromium you buy which is always a complete Light side character.
If I'm not mistaken, the fleet challenge awards 80 shards rather than a full character unlock, so you'll get 80 shards instead of 32.
