I think they should be able to be dispelled but instead thermals should punish the target for cleansing the thermals.
Something like.
Thermal detonators Explodes after 2 turns inflicting physical damage and burning, if the detonator is removed in anyway before the timer expires deal an additional 25% damage and deal 50% of the overall damage in the form of AoE to the rest of the enemy team
