I don't see how this could be true. Teams are secondary to mods at this point. You can wipe the floor with your team's own "counter" if your mods are significantly faster.
It's only at the bleeding edge of arena where everyone is running close to the maximum possible amount of speed where teams start to matter again, but I doubt your shard is so wildly competitive that people have full teams of +130+ speed characters in the 200-500 bracket.
