I think the new iOS players got a big advantage here getting to play Biggs and Wedge almost from the start. Without Wedge it probably is better to play not Biggs, but GS as in my suggested lineup and farm Biggs later (because you must farm Phasma and Biggs from the same source). Phasma is just a great leader at this level. On a related point, I believe the free Biggs/Wedge handout is over now, so it might be easier for Android accounts to start over than to compete against Wiggs lineups which should appear only at about level 74.
GW shouldn't depend on Talia or JC, but at your level they might be necessary. Should become better once your characters have protection. Ackbar is also great at this level, because he can convert Sid/Vader debuffs into health.
With gear I would gear up GS, trying to get gear for next level is hard because a lot of needed nodes aren't open yet.
