I am also newbie, but I would change my strategy if your ackbar is already 4 star. You know time = rank, and with a 4star Ackbar you are like 80 shards of STH away. If you only make 5 shards of arena/day, that would be 16 days, if you make 10 shards of arena that is 8 days. And that is a lot! So I would buy ackbar in arena then.
