Seems like a waste of 4 mod set when you can be hitting 30% harder on crits with a crit damage set.
Hey! Thanks! Congrats on Greivous! My opinion on ig 86 is that you need that focused damage to eliminate a character before the opponents get an opportunity to go. Sometimes rng will call je in for the assist which sucks but its only a 25% chance. When you do get gg called in for the assist the damage is massive and can one shot a lot of toons if moded correctly. 88 is great but with that team I run hes not as effective as b2, gg or 86.
Same goes for ig 100. He's good just not an upgrade to any of those other options. I would recommend Cheif nebit before IG 100. Nebit is a tank that gives allies protection and calls 2 in for assist if surrounded by droid or jawa allies.
Overall ive tried a lot of options. My ig100 isnt geared or leveled but i have a maxed 88 and cheif nebit. The best on defense from my experience is far and away the team in the video. I held rank one almost indefinitely for over 2 months with that team. I havent switched because the lost any viability. In fact most on my shard hope i never bring back the droids because they have never defeated them. I just like switching it up a bit.
On the subject of mods. Yes eventually i will equip crit damage and crit chance mods on ig86, hk47 and B2. My grievous and je will have speed mods. Crit chance is already insanely high with droids because they get 30% from hk lead and 25% from je with crit chance up. Also 86 has crit chance built into his unique. 4.5% per droid ally. So they dont really need crit chance because they already have a ton. I have crit damage primaries on all so all i would gain is the additional 30% crit damage from the set. I want greivous as fast as possible. Hoping to get him over 200 soon. I could always change my mind and give him the crit damage if necessary

I can definitely see what you mean about 86. His damage is great, and that assist every 2 turns is awesome. 88 does some good damage as well, that AOE adds up, but it's not focus fire, you're right. I'm working on my 100 right now, just to see how he does. He would replace 88/86 in the squad, but I'm not sure it'd have the damage. I have HK L, JE, GG, B2 and another (86, 88, 100).
It's nice to hear you held rank. It's a nasty team. I ran droids for 1.5 months and did really well, but I like to switch up as well. Jedi, Rebels, Droids, and currently Empire. Fun running all these teams. I really like using Gen Grievous. His character is quite good now thanks to HK L, JE and mods.
On the subject if mods, I can see your point. More damage is more damage of course, but the faster the better. Once I get my resistance team up to par, I'm going to get a good speed set and see if I like them more than crit damage on some heroes.
