I'm a FTP player and I don't buy g12 gear from the guild events store, I buy other gear I need to just get to g12. Should I stop buying that gear and save my currency to get wampa, who I do really want on my roster, or should I continue just buying gear that I can still get elsewhere, just slightly slower? I'm in a casual guild that gets about 16 stars per TB, so what does everyone else recommend I do?Here's my roster https://swgoh.gg/u/electricnick/collection/

I go with gear because my main source of crystals is fleet arena, and Wampa doesn't fly a ship.Yet.

I'm F2P as well but I've been playing since almost launch. I'd say wampa cause that other gear isn't that hard to farm from other places. You can even ask for it in guild exchange

I'll give a different view, if you're in a casual guild, I'm going to guess you're a casual player, in that case, you should farm whichever makes the game fun for you, if you really want to max wampa, go for it, or if you have favorite toons like Aasajj or Savage, then max them out...if your goal is to progress in the game beyond a casual player, you should strongly consider graduating into a more serious guild and grind, grind, grind. There’s only one way to get wampa shards. There are multiple ways to get gear.

There's also only one toon that can use wampa shards while every toon needs gear.

My Wampa is at 15/100 towards 7 stars and he is a lot of fun to use. And he can easily fit into a light side team, he works in any team as a big damage dealer counter attacker.

I personally go for gear 12 peices. Wampa and Hermit are both fine, but I'd rather get the toons I have maxed before I add more to my to do list.
Gear that leads to 12... I get to first most days in arena, both kinds. So I have crystals for that. But even before I got to that point, never really bothered with that - guild event currency is too rare.

Might note that Wampa with an omnicron becomes a whole team by himself in gac. I'm assuming you're still in a place where wampa can still be strong in gac. even in kyber 2 he comes in handy once in awhile.
once you're done with Wampa, its done. the gear grind will never end.
