What is the reason for owning a Profundity now?

Just like P1 was a lifter for Executor, we can probably expect a lifter for profundity in the future.  CG always has to create the next new shiny object to get people spending crystals/$$.  If Profundity feels obsolete right now I will bet my house that it changes at some point in the near future.
