Ventress lead is generally better on defense - you don't get the deathstorm shenanigans going, but the big TM manipulation boosts make them much more unpredictable. Plus it's pretty much ingrained at this point to always bring anti-revive against them, so MT's lead is less likely to do what it's supposed to anyway.
In the same vein, I probably wouldn't bother with acolyte cheese at this point since it's such an old tactic that any decent player will be familiar with how to get around it. The only reason I'd consider dropping Ventress is if you really want to run her under Nute for some reason, and even then it's "eh."
