WhipiT's Endgame PvP Q & A. Ask anything.

The current endgame is level 60 so all discussions will revolve around that. It's the same questions over and over on these boards. Usually you get 20 different answers mostly from people in there 40's who haven't even reached endgame and they just regurgitate what they "heard". So continue reading to get advice from someone who is at endgame, has sniped #1 at reset everyday since the launch of the game & spent a lot of $$$ unlocking and gearing up around 80% of available character unlocks. I've tried many different combinations and I will share with you what I have learned. Let's begin.

Can I ever compete with big spenders in arena?
Short answer no. Regardless what people say on these forums some Chrono Card only characters are head & shoulders above any available unlocks. The good news is most are stuck at 4* so it balances out as of right now the farmable characters are hitting 6-7* so low or not at all spenders are able to compete. But there are some big spenders who have chrono only toons at 7 star. Once they reach 60 unless you're a big spender too....you won't win. But that is a very small %. So long answer yes you can compete as a low spender. You just won't be the best. Fair enough.

Who do I unlock first in Arena Shipments?

As someone who has almost all the arena shipment toons unlocked, semi geared and played I can tell you with no doubt Darth Sidious is by far your best option. It's not even close. None of the other characters have as much usefulness. If you try to break into the top tier of arena without Sidious as a low spender I can tell you quickly you won't. Without his heal immunity you will find yourself getting frustrated wasting a whole turn focus firing one toon just for Luminara or Consular to heal all your damage. And good luck killing healers without heal immunity. He is durable, does great damage at 7* and his leadership skill is a shining star when you build crit reliant teams. And crit reliant teams are the strongest teams currently at endgame. Make sense?

Who do I unlock first from Cantina shipments?
Again I have most if not all the toons unlocked from cantina shipments. For endgame PvP there IS NOT a better option than Boba Fett. People complain that he doesn't do a lot of damage and that's true he is no Lando. But guess what? None of the other cantina shipment toons do either. But they don't have an AOE ability block. They dont have a self rez ability aside from Old Daka. But she is basically a free kill currently at endgame. Offensive attackers will target her first everytime. And if they have a solid team will make it 4 vs 5 by the second turn as Old Daka drops like a sack of potatoes. I compete against big hitters at the top and in almost every situation Boba is always left standing and many times has won me the match as the last person left on my team. Seven star him. You won't regret it.

Who should I unlock first from GW shipments?
Luminara. She was a gift from the developers. Powerful attacker with ability block, clutch party heal and she has a special that can crit 5k. Any questions?

What is the best meta to reach the top tiers
I've tried most of them. 4 healers & a DPS. Jedi counter team , 3 healers & 2 DPS, 5 DPS etc etc. The best balance I have found is 3 DPS 1 healer, 1 attacker/healer (Luminara). If you go to healer heavy the DPS teams will roll you because they will pick one healer at a time to FF slowly dwindling your numbers down till your dead. You won't be able to stop them as you won't have the DPS to lower there numbers so every turn 5 DPS are pounding your healers. If you go full DPS team you will struggle with 3 DPS/ 2 healer teams because there DPS will FF one of your toons down while the healers will keep there DPS alive long enough to dwindle your team down. The full Jedi counter team is the best there is if you have them all 7* and your opponent is dumb enough to throw an AOE with all 5 jedi still alive. If they are not all 7 star they are easy to counter by FF one target down at a time. Once they are down to three you can start unloading your AOE's and mopping up the rest. I have fought a full 7* counter team and I can say I don't see it being beat at the moment. But a 4* counter team is manageable consistently with a 3 dps/2 healer team. So in conclusion 3 DPS 1 healer, 1 healer/attacker in my opinion is the best balanced team at the moment.

What are the best characters to have in an endgame arena team?

I honestly don't know. There are so many combinations of characters there isn't a right answer. That's the fun of the game. You build a team of your design stick them in arena and see if they sink or swim. My personal favorite are AOE heavy teams as I am a min/max type of player. Would I rather have one toon that hits one character for 4k or a toon that can hit 5 characters for 3k. Compound 3 AOE characters together and they can disable a team in just the first turn. Personally I would only do a 3 aoe team if one of them is Lando. I say this from experience...Lando is the biggest damage dealer in the game. There isn't a close second. He can drop 15k+ damage in one turn. Any questions?

Feel free to use this thread to ask any and all questions and I or other endgame players will answer as quickly as possible. Do not listen to lower levels advice as they may be able to answer some questions..... without actually competing at the higher levels they can't give you an experienced answer. And when it takes weeks to unlock some characters the wrong choice because you took someones opinion as advice gets frustrating fast. So I and I am sure other endgame players will do our best to help you!!

totally new here thanks for all the info just few questions
whats the meaning of AOE? DPS? FF? F2P?
also who should i focuses on getting from cantina Poe or Boba?

AOE = Area of Effect = attacking multiple targets at once, e.g. Demoralizing Blows skill that Darth Sideous has

DPS = Damger Per Second = Level of damage a character can pump out on average

FF = Focus Fire (I think) = Only attacking one target to kill them off before they can be healed

F2P = Free to Play = People who don't spend money on the game

As for Poe vs Boba, personally I like Boba better but not had Poe for Long or levelled him up to same level as Boba yet.

    thanks for the replay
  • I hadn't thought of pairing the expose with the Sid AOE but I like the idea. I'll be farming Poe after my current Asoka is done.
  • I'll throw down on the thought train... I've been building a full nightsister group and am loving it.

I am a softlaunch player (I think? I just started like 3 weeks ago...)

All gear is the best I can get for being level 55. Most are missing 61+ pieces or need to be level 59 for the last one.

So far this comp is very strong. The asajj debuff lands all the time, daka revive is like 40-50% success rate to get at least 1 person up in a fight... The initiate and acolyte are surprisingly durable and do a lot of dmg now with max gear and they got a lot of room to raise star level for bigger gains. Talia isn't squishy anymore her heal + basic atk doesn't hurt her a whole lot, her dot is HUGE dmg.

To touch on similar builds with Ahsoka... she isn't that good from what I've seen. I put some time into her and then bailed out as she was scaling poorly. If you want the evasion buff you could make Talia the leader over Asajj but I think the Asajj speed just helps all of your characters our perform most enemy teams. You get roughly 2 for 1 on attacks compared to most teams and can get the numbers advantage quickly. I have time to time swapped in lum for the acolyte - she's farther ahead and on 3 healer comps I like the ability block.

    Just my thoughts.

    Asajj 6*
    Talia 5*
    Initiate 4*
    Daka 4*
    Acolyte 3*

Almost all of them will go up a star level by the end of this next week. Talia will hit 7* end of this week and Acolyte will be my new focus for holotables and should jump to 5* the following week. Daka seems to be my slowest one so far and Initiate will pick up speed soon I paused lumi (not sure if this was worth it or not yet).

Once asajj finishes I'm about 40/80 for sid and will go back to grinding him, no one else seems worth it right now.... I'm tempted to build a resistance team for the light side and might farm the pilot... just not sure yet and prob 2 weeks out before i need to really decide. Any thoughts are welcome.
  • Pretty much what I wanted to do but got more droids so have to do droid team instead of sisters but I really wanted to do an all sister team. I only have 3 light sides I'm working on and just can't seem to decide which other ones I want but was leaning towards both resistance to go with Chewy, Lumi and JC. I would just like to know where the resistance guys rank in terms of speed at high levels but can't seem to find that info anywhere including cantina.
  • @Leapster
    Thoughts on Acolyte and Initiate?

I use Ahsoka as leader, Luminara, Asajj, Old Daka and Talia.

  • I'm curious why PvP Arena is split into servers at all... it's not real-time anyhow, so it's not like they worry about things like latency I'd think. Wouldn't it be better if the high-paying P2P players could congregate together to compare their investments in PvP vs. sitting around on top of the heap of F2P peons all the time?

The disjoint is real... on the server I'm on, cracking 300 is for those who spend some money. On my brother's server, he is totally F2P and floats sub-200 without an issue. We compared the relative power ratings of the players around him at Rank 200 and they are much lower than the Rank 300-400 players on mine.

  • @cosmicturtle333 Both initiate and acolyte are turning out to be quite strong and have a nice hp pool once geared/starred higher.
    Asajj is now 7*
    Initiate 5*
    Daka 5*
and they are took a big jump in hp going to 5*
  • So to update..

    Asajj 7*
    Talia 6*
    Daka 5*
    Initiate 5*
    Acolyte 3* / Lumi 4*

I have been rotating between Acolyte/Lumi for GW and some Arena matches as I've learned who I end up playing against most often now. Just depends if I need the extra heal/ability lock or if I know I have enough dmg to just burst them fast and I'll bring Acolyte for the dps

When Initiate hit 5* it gained a ton of hp and now rarely dies at all.
Sometimes is the last person standing vs aoe teams.

With this team setup and Asajj leader I can beat all the common PVP comps up to around 1k power above me consistently and sometimes a little higher if I get good rng and they don't.

I'm hanging out around rank 50 in arena, everyone else is level 60 and I'm still 57 so I'm missing a few pieces of gear @ 59 and some skill upgrades. I'll push for top 10 once I hit 60 and can cap these guys out.

Only complaint so far is the revive from Daka barely ever works but nothing can make up for the amount of stuns she puts out per match.

Separate server is actually very crucial for this game, imagine new player who just started without separate dynamics server that distribute players by duration, its impossible to even get to top 1000.
